For more than two and a half decades, JesterZ Improv has been bringing people together through fast-paced comedy, unforgettable experiences, and life-changing training. What started as a small improv show in Scottsdale has grown into one of Arizona's most recognized comedy and improv organizations — impacting audiences, students, businesses, families, and communities across the Valley.
At JesterZ, we believe laughter is more than entertainment. It builds confidence. It creates connection. It strengthens communication. And it reminds people how to have fun together.
To help people become more confident, connected, creative, and courageous — through improv comedy, communication, and community.
JesterZ Improv began in 2001 in Scottsdale, Arizona with one mission: create a comedy experience that is wildly entertaining, highly interactive, and genuinely positive. At a time when many venues relied on negativity, sarcasm, or shock humor, JesterZ took a different path — clean, high-energy improv that families, teens, businesses, churches, schools, and adults could all enjoy together.
The response was immediate. Audiences loved the interactive shows. Students discovered confidence through improv. Companies realized comedy and communication training could strengthen their teams. And the community kept growing.

JesterZ is led by founder and creative director Jef Rawls — a nationally respected improv performer, coach, speaker, and leadership trainer considered to be in the Top 3% worldwide in the improv industry for live performance and coaching experience.
For Jef, improv has never only been about comedy. It's about helping people communicate more effectively, build stronger relationships, develop confidence under pressure, think creatively, listen better, lead with authenticity, and become more adaptable in life and business.
His coaching style blends humor, encouragement, practical communication tools, leadership psychology, and real-world experience — creating an environment where people feel safe to grow, fail, try again, and succeed.
